Play A Song

Cutting her performance teeth in theatre and choir while growing up in Dallas, Kathleen Braun first picked up the guitar in high school to keep up with her folk singer-guitarist mother and multi-instrumentalist older brother.  Honing her original tunes since college citing influences like Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, and Whiskeytown, the developing singer songwriter has been refining her sound in Austin area establishments like The Red Eyed Fly, Ego’s, and Antone’s.  She has shared stages with esteemed talents including Trish Murphy, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Micky and the Motorcars, and Reckless Kelly; opened for acts including Susan Gibson, Ryan Bingham, and The Gougers; and performed at festivals including the Old Settler's Music Festival and the MusicFest at Steamboat. Braun contributed vocals on Jason Boland and the Straggler's release, Somewhere In The Middle, as well as backing vocals on Micky and the Motorcars recent album, Careless. With limited copies of an EP changing hands across the scene, Braun will head into the studio this fall to work on her full length debut, expected in 2008.
