Big Burn

Big Burn

Growing up in various Texas towns from Conroe to Plano, it didn’t take long for Scott Coburn (a.k.a. Big Burn) to realize that guitar and country music were in his blood. Pickup trucks, Texas highways and the radio forged a wealth of childhood memories long before Scott figured out what life was really all about. ‘I was seven years old the first time I heard Merle’s The Fightin’ Side of Me on the radio,’ said Scott. ‘I was on a road trip with my Dad and when the song was over, he and I talked about the lyrics for more than an hour. That is what country music is all about.’

From that day forward, Scott continued to soak up all the country music he could handle. Waylon, Willie, Merle and Johnny all had profound influence on the young Burn. It wasn’t long before a guitar was found under the Christmas tree and so began a musical journey that would eventually land Big Burn on the local Dallas music scene. Now living and raising a family in Southlake, Texas, most nights Big Burn is likely to be found singin’ his 2 year old son, Kyle, to sleep… but every now and then, you might find ol’ Burn cranking out country down at one of the local pubs. Pull up a chair, grab a cold beer and sing along for awhile...
